The Information Commissioner (ICO) has fined the University of Greenwich for a security breach relating to almost 20,000 personal data records, dating back to 2004.
The breach, which has been described as “serious”, was initiated when a microsite was created without the University being aware.
This reinforces the need to train and make employees, and users who can access your facilities, aware of data protection regulation and their role in keeping data safe and its lawful use.
