Alexander Kay-Bradley

Finance & IT

As our Systems Accountant, Alex’s role spans finance and IT specialisms.  Initially joining us as an accounts assistant, we tapped into his interest in the IT systems, system controls, system development and system training.

Since qualifying as a member to ACCA Alex has moved into his current role which complements both elements of IT and accounting. On a daily basis he provides colleagues with information to help them operate efficiently and that aids decision making; alongside his more traditional accounting responsibilities.

When away from work, what do you enjoy doing?

When away from work I spend the majority of free time with my family. We often visit the beach, nature parks and the zoo, enjoying the play parks on route! I love playing the piano and creating music, I find it exploratory, relaxing and therapeutic. The hobbies that I have vary from time to time but I try to revisit them as much as possible, these include Mountain Biking (trail riding), flying my drone (see photo), golf, creating Arduino electronic / hardware prototypes, swimming and keeping up to date with new technology.

I find myself looking into subjects such as history, economics, mathematics and computer science, finding them all very interesting and will often read up on them in my free time.

What is your favourite book or movie?

A History of the World –Andrew Marr

Describe an interesting fact about yourself?

In my youth I appeared on stage at the world renowned Octagon Theatre in Yeovil.

When you were a child what did you want to be when you grew up?

Taller, it would have been difficult to be an adult at this size. When at secondary school I wanted to become a chemist.
