When away from work, what do you enjoy doing?

I enjoy walking my border terrier in the beautiful countryside around my home with my husband and daughter, particularly when we plan a route that involves a pub lunch.

My job is a sedentary one so I try to compensate with lots of exercise outside work.  I enjoy cycling and regularly attend organised rides with a local group.  I also enjoy running and have participated in various long distance events.

What is your favourite book or movie?

A Fine Balance by Rohinton Mistry

Describe an interesting fact about yourself?

I have visited 6 out of the 7 continents.  Highlights from my travels included climbing Mount Kinabalu in Borneo; cycling around Angkor Wat in Cambodia; staying on a house-boat in Kashmir; scuba diving at the Great Barrier Reef, and sleeping under the stars in the Sahara desert.

When you were a child what did you want to be when you grew up?

It tended to alternate between zookeeper and librarian.
