If the worst happens and you do receive a tribunal claim, our experienced team of employment lawyers can help you. We work with you from the very start to enable you to understand whether you are likely to be able to successfully defend the claim.

We help you take practical steps to collate the necessary documentation and identify the information needed from managers, as well as making sure that all of the “formalities” associated with employment tribunal proceedings are simply taken care of for you, with the minimum of fuss and inconvenience.

If the claim is defended through to an employment tribunal hearing, we can provide a full legal service, including advocacy. You might be aware that since 2013 and the introduction of employment tribunal fees, employers have been used to operating in a fairly benign tribunal litigation risk environment. Put simply, after 2013, fees for bringing employment tribunal claims meant that far fewer employees actually sued their employers.

That all changed in July 2017 when the Supreme Court effectively abolished employment tribunal fees. Businesses can therefore expect the risk of receiving employment claims to be far higher in future than in recent years.
